Director of Operations

Duties:

  • Review company’s standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy;
  • Coordinate and oversee all interactions between operational departments;
  • Manage operations teams to ensure efficiency and cooperation, providing employee feedback and performance reviews;
  • Liaise with senior management to review operational activities and to set companies strategic operational goals;
  • Evaluate efficiencies of business procedures according to organizations business objectives and implement improvement initiatives and strategies;
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocations;
  • Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction;
  • Review companies’ financial forecasts and operational budgets for approval by senior management;
  • Review, revise and formulate operations policies and oversee their implementation;
  • Gather, analyze and interpret data and metrics to evaluate overall business performance;
  • Act as SAGE and OASIS database administrator, overseeing all required changes and upgrades to the company databases.
  • Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans;
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity;
  • Work with project managers in the development of financial and budgetary plans;
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary;
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives;
  • Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals;
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks;
  • Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs;
  • Uphold organization policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed;
  • Work closely with human resources to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • 5+ years senior leadership role in the aerospace and defense sector;
  • Demonstrated specialized knowledge and experience in defense, military, aerospace and electrical industries;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100 quality standard and sage 200 database;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft office software suite;
  • Must be willing to travel and relocate for extended periods of time (usually 4 to 6 weeks);
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management;
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity;
  • Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands;
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Aerospace and Defense industry regulations and legislative guidelines as related to qualification and approval for use.

Executive Vice-President of Manufacturing

Duties:

  • Establish objectives for the company and formulate or approve policies and programs;
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions;
  • Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement company policies and programs; establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall personnel planning;
  • Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff;
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments;
  • Represent the company, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company, in negotiations or other official functions;
  • Oversee the manufacturing department and provide direction related to overall requirements and managing costs and timelines;
  • Directing production and manufacturing staff for optimizing design;
  • Provide direction to the team developing conceptual designs and participate in review and approval process;
  • Train managers so that they can then provide clear instructions to operators on how to use the jigs and fixtures;
  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance teams for validating conformance and compliance and configuration control.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the defense, military, aerospace and electrical industry including 2 years of Managerial experience;
  • Experience with budget and business plan development;
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity;
  • Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings;
  • Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous success;
  • Strong working knowledge and first-hand experience as related to the tooling and equipment used in the manufacture of electronic and electrical assemblies;
  • Experience working with teams to design and build workstations and production line for specific project and assembly requirements;
  • Experience ensuring all legal requirements as related to health and safety and product liability are followed and maintained;
  • Experience identifying root cause of any rejections or deficiencies of assemblies;
  • Experience developing and implementing correct action measures as required.
